Military Service

Ricky proudly served in the Korean War, dedicating his time and effort to supporting his fellow soldiers. His bravery and camaraderie were admired by all who served alongside him. During his time in the military, he formed lifelong friendships and developed a deep sense of discipline and loyalty.

Family

Ricky married the love of his life, Kelly, and together they built a life full of love and joy. The couple was blessed with a beautiful daughter, who was the light of their lives. Ricky’s devotion to his family was evident in everything he did, from family dinners to holidays filled with laughter.

Battle with Cancer

After a courageous two-year battle with cancer, Ricky passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Throughout his fight, he remained resilient and positive, inspiring those around him with his strength. His determination and spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

Ricky bled Cubbie blue and never missed a game. Whether it was the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, or Blackhawks, he was always cheering (or yelling) at the TV. He had an impressive collection of team gear and even had strong opinions on coaching decisions—whether they asked for them or not!

Ricky and his nephew spent countless hours battling it out in video games. From racing games to first-person shooters, their matches were intense and full of laughter. Ricky had a competitive streak but always let his nephew win—until he didn’t. Victory dances were common, and so were hilarious rematches.

Ricky believed laughter was the best medicine. He had an infectious laugh that could fill a room and always knew how to lighten the mood. Whether cracking jokes, sharing funny stories, or just enjoying a good laugh with friends and family, he found joy in making others smile.
